Ain't It Cool News has it's problems, but it's entertaining, and it fills a void I haven't seen filled elsewhere. So I still read it, even though I take it with a very large grain of salt.

The other day, I wrote in to Harry after spotting something on CNet (scroll down to second letter):

What The Hell Is Going On With RENDEZVOUS WITH RAMA?! [aintitcool.com]

They got down to the nitty-gritty of the situation here:

The Truth About RENDEVOUS WITH RAMA! [aintitcool.com]

I just like seeing Toothgnip's name on AICN.

"I can call you Toothgnip, and Toothgnip, when you call me, you can call me Al! Na na na na... na na na na..." ::sings to herself and no one in particular::

Whee! It's just like being Paul Simon, except for the part about being rich and famous.

When I'm rich and famous I'm going to refer everyone to goats.com, and I'm going to remake "You Can Call Me Al" using "Toothgnip" instead of "Betty."

Hey, quite acting like my guitar. It'll be alright. Mishearing lyrics is a quite common thing, such as he Hendrix line "scuse me while I kiss the sky" commonly being misheard as "scuse me while I kiss this guy".

It took me years to finally accept that sh'mon is just a word that Michael Jackson invented.

the bright side is that there is a website out there dedicated to misheard lyrics...just to make you feel better that you are not alone.

http://www.amiright.com [amiright.com]

my own personal infamous misheard lyric is from "Voices Carry" by 80's band Til Tuesday. Aimee Mann is now one of my favorite lyricist's, but back in my youth, I thought the refrain from that song was "hush, hush, keep it down now, is it scary?"

Ok, thank you so much, I now have that song stuck in my head.

Then again, could be worse [goats.com]...
