POLL: Happy Labor Day

Sunday, September 03, 2006 - 11:08 PM

This Monday is Labor Day here in the U.S., which ironically is a day on which most people do not work. I will be working, because I have a strong work ethic, but there will be no new strip on Monday since most people will be outside barbecuing and away from the internets (one would hope). Goats returns with a brand-new installment on Tuesday.

In unrelated news, I have word that the diablo action figures have likely arrived in Los Angeles or will be arriving momentarily. Once they clear customs and make their way to Massachusetts we'll be able to send them on their way to all of you kind folks who pre-ordered one. So hopefully your wait will only be a few more weeks. Thanks for your patience, goataku!

POLL: What are you doing for Labor Day?

15% (121) Burning Meat

23% (187) Working Hard

9% (79) Travelling To Distant Lands

21% (172) Struggling For Independence

30% (244) Alphabetizing My Hentai Collection
803 people have voted in this poll. (This poll is not active.)

Some of us across the pond don't have these frivalous holidays and will be working our little fingers to the bone...

It is is by working hard at alphabetizing my Hentai collection and burning meat that I struggle for the independence to travel to distant lands.

Does "level grinding in Disgaea 2" count as "working hard"?

If so, that's what I'm doing.

I voted twice, even though I'm not from Chicago, because I did two of the choices. I started the day by cutting the grass and cutting down some dead branches, which I then had to cut into bite-size chunks so I could bag them with the grass clippings. So, working hard.
Then I fired up the grill and cooked enough for lunch and two dinners--and repeated that process several hours later, yielding yesterday's dinner and one more meal for later in the week. Two fires=five meals. Yay! So, burning meat. And now I don't have to use the oven or the broiler for the rest of the week! Huzzah! Almost makes up for the fact that it started to rain just as I was thinking about taking the convertible out for a ride. :(

i'm glad that the Ohio cops didn't take the day off. if they had, i wouldn't have known i was doing 86 in a 65 zone.

whew.

just think of all the bad things i could have wasted that $130 on. thank you Ohio. i hope your next 187 is lots of orphans and puppies.

Is there *any* Gordon? :(

Yes on Etna. She steamrolled over my party in a fairly early part (level 1000 Etna vs. level 10 party is like kicking puppies), and apparently she joins the party later on.

Laharl: Apparently there's a map where you can fight him and his squad. I *think* he can join the party, don't quote me on that though.

Flonne & Gordon: Unsure.

My Monday/Tuesday was fun.
Bought a new car Monday, took it home (Budapest home that is) and loaded it up. Key in, start driving, autobahn, go fast, ferry, home (UK one).

1805km, 16:05 driving time, 30:50 total traveling time.

Fun!

Of course I flew.

Your same 1805 km only gets me to Topeka, Kansas!

But I'd get there in about 24 hours, not 30 - if I made plenty of stops. Google maps says it's 20 hours, 30 minutes.
