Much as I hate how things are right now, I just don't think we can fix things by putting someone new in office anymore. The system itself is flawed at its root, in my opinion, which is why I've never voted [hindrances.com].

That said, if it has to be someone, I guess it might as well be Brock. He's still someone who desires power, which precludes the right to wield it, but who knows? He might turn out to be in it for the great good.

Sadly, there was no option for those of us in a non-Super Tuesday state - and especially not for those of us in a state whose primaries are so late that it hasn't actually influenced candidate selection since the year I was born (despite having enough electoral college votes to swing general elections).

This is why I'm a registered Libertarian - voting in primaries that are irrelevant loses a lot of the appeal.

"Do it for Barack!" was the first thing I said getting into and out of bed this morning. It's like blankets/coffee (respectively.

In Response to sakuruth (#40748):

Similar situation for me, but at least this year California is pushed up to "Super Tuesday".

This year, the CA Democratic party opted for "open primaries" allowing us independent voters to voice our opinions on their selection. So voted for Barack because I'm scared to hell of Hillary on a presidential ticket.

So it's not just me (and the right-wing nutjobs) after all. I'm optimistic about Obama's ability to carry through to get the nomination, because if not we're probably going to be saying hello to President-elect McCain come November.

Granted, this is an improvement over potential presidents like "I know I'm a Mormon, but look at my manly chin" Romney and "I play the double bass, does that make me cool?" Huckabee. (Answer: No, Mike, not unless you're secretly Nonnie Rosenberg, too.)
